Childrens access to smart phones and all the inherent danger that presents is a big issue for schools and parents. Protecting their children from the internet is becoming more and more difficult. The general approach for schools is to ban the use of phones on site completely. This is not always effective and can lead to an environment where children will try and beat the system by hiding their devices.
An alternative approach is to allow the use of personal phones in some areas where a school wifi system is present. This system can be set limit a childs access to the internet will still allowing basic functions of the phone including WiFi Calling and messaging. In this way while the phone still has a certain degree of functionality, children are proteceted from potentially unsafe and inappropriate content while on the school site.
